Sub – PROBLEM FACING BY VILLAGERS REGARDING TO HINDUSTAN ZINC LIMITED, RAMPURA-AGUNCHA
Sir,
With due respect. We are facing so many problems from hzl Rampura Aaguncha Mines. Which are following –
Since 1988-89 when the plant was established the whole area has been affected by pollution. Bheru khera gram, which is situated near the mine area, is badly affected. Dirt of zinc concentrate is settled on the villagers’ home. Food materials are also polluted. When we use food materials it goes in our body. Thus the villagers are suffering from many incurable disease.
As the mining area is spreading and going deeper, the water is rushing towards mine. So we are suffering from the decreasing water level. So there is shortage of water for drinking and irrigation. Agriculture is main income of source of this area and it had the highest production rate in agriculture in Bhilwara district but at present the production rate in agriculture is near about nil due to lacking irrigation water. The villagers have to face problems in earning their livelihood and the fertile land became barren.
The quality of drinking water has been declined; so many villagers are suffering from water born disease.
A. School building of Rampura which is built by HZL but there is no appropriate facilities for the students. There is no fence around the school area. There is no play ground.
B. hospital building of Rampura which is built by HZL but there is no appropriate facilities for the villagers. There is no fence around the hospital area.
C. there is no street road and drain system along with road.
D. the relocated villagers have to face so many problems in daily life.
Failure of Education system
Due to the explosion in mining area, all the educational institutes of this area have to change their schedule timings. Ordinary timing in Rajasthan is 10.30 am to 4.30pm = 6 hours*7months.The time of all the educational institutes of this area is 8.00am to 1.30pm=5.30hours*7months. Thus every day loss of study is 0.30hours*7months. In all winter season school starts from8.00am.Many students come from neighboring villages, they have many problems in coming school. Psychological point of view, it is not proper time for learning. A constant decline in Board results is seen in these years.
Blasting horror
A powerful blasting is exploded near human dwellings. All the houses have so many cracks due to blasting. So many times many houses collapsed at the time of blasting. It is our good luck that no casualty so far.
Unemployment
It is very unhappy fact that 100-110 land losers are unemployed beside they have lost their agricultural land which are their main earning source. So many times the local hzl management promised to give jobs to them but it is not fulfilled.
Social welfare
Since 1988 till today there is no solid work of social welfare is done. Although some work is done but it is not sufficient to compare with misery faced by us. It is your moral duty to develop social welfare system to reduce our misery suffered by hzl.
In 2007 a MOU is signed between district collector and hzl management to develop aguncha as a model village. But the hzl management does not discuss about the any project regarding the model village to gram panchayat so far.
